TTD MoU with CSIR-CFTRI to enhance food safety and quality of Srivari Prasadams

Tirupati, June 15 (UNI) In a first-of-its-kind initiative in the temple sector, after a spate of controversies over adulterated Laddus, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the CSIR–Central Food Technological Research Institute (CSIR-CFTRI), Mysuru, to strengthen food safety, quality and nutritional standards in the preparation and distribution of Srivari prasadam and other food offerings.
The agreement was signed during the two-day RISE Conclave 2026 (Research, Innovation, Start-ups and Entrepreneurship) held in Bengaluru in the presence of union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi, the TTD said in a release here on Monday.
TTD said the collaboration aims to ensure that all food items and sacred prasadams prepared and distributed by the temple administration adhere to the highest standards of safety, nutrition and quality while preserving their traditional character and religious significance.
