Two alleged gang shooters arrested after Panchkula shootout, councillor’s relative injured

Panchkula, June 4 (UNI) In a major breakthrough, Panchkula Police arrested two alleged shooters linked to the Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara gangs following a late-night shootout, chase and encounter that began after an attack on a local businessman in Sector 5 of Panchkula.
The accused, identified as Jaswinder of Ludhiana and Harpreet of Hoshiarpur, were apprehended after an exchange of fire with police near the Mattawala flyover. Both sustained bullet injuries to their legs during the encounter and were later shifted to PGIMER, Chandigarh, after receiving initial treatment at the Civil Hospital, Panchkula.
According to preliminary information, the two men allegedly opened fire on Ratan Lubana, brother-in-law of the Municipal Corporation Ward No. 1 councillor, around midnight on Wednesday. Lubana was reportedly coming out of a lounge in Sector 5 when the assailants, riding a Pulsar motorcycle, allegedly fired multiple rounds at him.
