Two more witnesses depose in Zubeen Garg Case

Guwahati, Oct 14 (UNI) Two more Assamese expatriates from Singapore, who witnessed the death of Zubeen Garg, gave their statements before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CID today.
Police sources said that Abhimanyu Talukdar and Tanmoy Phukan deposed before the SIT at the CID headquarters in Guwahati today.
Yesterday, three other Assamese expatriates, Siddhartha Bora, Parikshit Sharma, and Jiolongsat Narzary who were with Zubeen Garg on the yacht in Singapore, also gave their statements before the SIT.

Campaigning ends for high-stakes final phase of Bihar elections in 122 seats

Teachers’ body protests NEHU’s decision to conduct EC meeting in New Delhi

Shillong, Nov 9 (UNI) The North-Eastern Hill University Teachers’ Association (NEHUTA) has sought the Ministry of Education’s intervention to stop Vice-Chancellor Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla from chairing varsity’s 193rd Executive Council (EC) meeting in New Delhi on November 14.
In a letter to Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sumarbin Umdor, the NEHUTA President Lakhon Kma voiced “strong opposition” to conducting the meeting outside the Shillong campus, terming the decision a “blatant violation” of the university’s norms and the Ministry of Education’s directive.
