Udhayanidhi elected DMK LP leader, becomes LoP in TN Assembly

Chennai, May 11 (UNI) Former Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin has been unimously elected as the leader of the DMK Legislature Party (LP) and would be functioning as the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
Son of former Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin, who would not be present in the august House for the first time in three decades following his unfortunate defeat in his strong Kolathur constituency from where he had sought re-election for a fourth successive term in the April 23 elections, Mr Udhayanidhi, re-elected for a second term from Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni seat in Chennai city, was elected as the LP leader at a meeting of the newly-elected MLAs held a couple of days back following which he would serve as the LoP.
A DMK statement here last evenig said, the MLAs meeting held at the party headquarters Anna Arivalayam, also elected former Ministers and senior leaders K N Nehru and E V Velu as the Deputy Leader of the DMK LP annd Party Whip in the Assembly respectively.

Hyderabad, June 9 (UNI): Doctors at Kamineni Hospitals on Tuesday said that they have successfully reconstructed the jaw of a 39-year-old man using bone and tissue from his leg after oral cancer caused by a prolonged history of gutkha chewing and smoking destroyed a portion of his jawbone.
