Ukraine not expected to launch new counter offensive earlier than in 2025

Kyiv, Feb 24 (UNI) Ukraine will focus on defence and rebuilding this year and will not try to launch a new counteroffensive earlier than in 2025, which is the best-case scenario, The New York Times reported on Saturday, citing officials familiar with closed briefings by NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe, Gen. Christopher Cavoli.
Moreover, US military officials in Europe, led by Cavoli, have been "quietly warning" that the Ukrainian forces should hope for a "largely frozen" conflict at best, the newspaper reported.
On June 4, 2023, Ukraine attempted a counteroffensive against Russia. Kiev deployed brigades trained by NATO instructors and armed with Western equipment, including Leopard and Challenger tanks.
