Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day celebrated in Civil Hospital Kangra

Kangra, Dec12 (UNI) Civil Hospital Kangra observed Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day today, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring equal, accessible and high-quality healthcare for all sections of society. The event was organised in collaboration with Sub-Divisional Legal Authorities, highlighting the joint responsibility of the health and legal systems in protecting citizens’ health rights.
The programme focused on raising awareness about affordable and accessible healthcare services, patients’ rights, and various government schemes aimed at reducing the financial burden during illness. Doctors, health workers, legal officers and community representatives participated actively.
During the event, Legal Officers informed the public about Universal Health Coverage, essential health services, financial protection, health rights, legal aid, and the ways citizens can seek assistance. Information was also shared on Ayushman Bharat, maternal and child health services, NCD screening and other hospital-based facilities.
