Kannauj (UP), Jan 11 (UNI) Twenty-three labourers were injured and few others were feared buried under the debris when the lintel of an under-construction building in Kannauj railway station collapsed in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, police sources said here.
Police sources said a new two-story building is being constructed at the station under the Amrit Bharat Yojana. "The incident took place when the lintel of the building was being laid. The entire section of the lintel collapsed all of a sudden in the afternoon in which more than 40 workers were buried under the debris," they said.
Police sources said District Magistrate Shubhrant Kumar Shukla along with Superintendent of Police (SP) Binod Kumar, CO City reached the spot and launched a relief and rescue operation.
