UP govt. delegates in Odisha to study disaster management initiatives

Bhubaneswar, July 6 (UNI) A high level delegation from Uttar Pradesh is on a four-day visit to Odisha to study and understand the best practices and disaster preparedness activities undertaken by the state government including early warning dissemination, community engagement and emergency response mechanism.
The delegation comprises Bhanu Chandra Goswami, Secretary, Revenue and Relief Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh Government and two other Officials of Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, Aditi Umrao, Project Director, EOC and Apurva Srivastav.
The Uttar Pradesh officials visited a Multi-Purpose Cyclone Shelter at Chotipada Village under Kakatpur Block of Puri district and interacted with communities of the village, members of Cyclone Shelter Management and Maintenance Committee of Chotipada. They also had a visit to the District Emergency Operation Center of Puri.
