US President Trump optimistic on Gaza peace plan, says 1st phase likely to be completed by this week

Washington, Oct 6 (UNI) US President Donald Trump today expressed optimism over his Gaza peace plan, stating that the first phase of his 20-point-initiative to end the deadly Israel-Hamas war, now in its second year, could be completed within the coming week.
Taking to Truth Social, the POTUS wrote "There have been very positive discussions with Hamas, and countries from all over the world (Arab, Muslim, and everyone else) this weekend, to release the hostages, end the war in Gaza but, more importantly, finally have long sought peace in the Middle East. These talks have been very successful, and proceeding rapidly."
Mentioning the upcoming meeting of delegations from the two warring sides, in Cairo, "to work through and clarify the final details," he added "I am told that the first phase should be completed this week, and I am asking everyone to MOVE FAST.
