New Delhi, Dec 9 (UNI) Rajya Sabha Chairman CP Radhakrishnan on Tuesday asserted that 'Vande Mataram' was not just a national song but was "the very pulse of our nation."
Making a special mention in the Upper House just ahead of the scheduled debate on the national song, which was set to be initiated by union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Chairman said the song, composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, was the source of unwavering courage for revolutionaries.
"More than a song, it is the very pulse of our nation—the unspoken prayer of countless mothers, the quiet hope breathed by the oppressed, and the unwavering courage of those who once dared to dream of freedom," he said, asserting that, “this timeless composition soon became the collective heartbeat of millions yearning to breathe free."
