Vijayendra links Bidadi row, guarantee curbs and RSS controversy in attack on DK govt

Bengaluru, June 17 (UNI) Accusing the newly installed government led by Chief Minister DK Shivakumar of prioritising "real estate interests" over farmers, Karnataka BJP president Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Wednesday launched a broadside against the Congress administration, linking the contentious Bidadi township project, restrictions on guarantee scheme beneficiaries and Minister Priyank Kharge's demand for financial disclosures from the RSS.
Addressing reporters ahead of his visit to Bidadi to meet farmers opposing the proposed Greater Bengaluru Integrated Township (GBIT) project, Vijayendra alleged that the Congress government was attempting to acquire agricultural land for a real estate-driven agenda while neglecting the concerns of cultivators.
"The government's priority is real estate, not farmers. Instead of addressing farmers' problems, it is trying to acquire their lands for a township project," he said, demanding that the land acquisition process be halted immediately.
