Vimal Negi case: HC extends interim protection to IAS Harikesh Meena; ASI Pankaj Kumar to remain in judicial custody

Shimla, Oct 6 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh High Court today extended interim protection from arrest to IAS officer and Director of Sports, Harikesh Meena, in the ongoing investigation related to the mysterious death of Vimal Negi.
The court has fixed October 9 as the next date for hearing his bail plea. A single bench of Justice Virender Singh heard two key bail applications one filed by Meena and the other by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Pankaj Kumar of the Shimla Sadar Police Station.
Meena appeared in person, assisted by senior advocate N.S. Chandel and advocate Ashok Kumar. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was represented by advocate Janesh Mahajan, assisted by DySP B.P. Singh.
