VP election to be held tomorrow; NDA’s CP Radhakrishnan favored to win

New Delhi, Sept 8 (UNI) The Vice President election will be held tomorrow, with members of both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha participating in the voting process.
Only the 542 current members of the Lok Sabha and 239 members of the Rajya Sabha are eligible to vote, making a total of 781 members in the electoral college. A candidate requires at least 391 votes to secure victory.
Voting will take place in the new Parliament building from 10 AM to 5 PM, followed by the counting of votes scheduled to begin at 6 PM.

New Delhi, May 19 (UNI) Linking the issue of stray dog menace to the right to life under Article 21 of the Constitution, the Supreme Court on Tuesday held that citizens have a right to live with dignity and move freely in public spaces without fear of dog bites and violent attacks, while ordering the authorities to euthanise rabid, incurably ill and demonstrably dangerous or aggressive stray dogs in accordance with law.
