Water metro in Ganga to be launched within one-and-a-half months: CM Choudhary

Patna, May 11 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary today announced that a water metro service on the Ganga River would be launched within one-and-a-half months, and directed officials to also expedite completion of the Patna Metro rail project.
Addressing a function after inaugurating the newly-constructed Naveen Kishore Sinha Path (Mandiri Nala Path) on the occasion of the birth anniversary of late BJP leader Naveen Kishore Sinha, the Chief Minister said here several schemes were being implemented for systematic urban development and expansion of Patna.
He said the state government planned to expand the city on both sides of the Ganga and develop a new township named “Pataliputra” over 66,000 acres. Another township named after Hariharnath would be developed at Sonepur across the river, he added.

Congress asks Bihar govt to release pending salaries and pensions of University employees

Patna, June 10 (UNI) Congress has urged the Bihar government to immediately release the pending salaries and pensions of more than 50,000 teachers and non-teaching employees of the state's 13 universities, as well as a similar number of pensioners, whose payments have reportedly been pending since March.
