Well-marked low-pressure area over Southwest Bay of Bengal: Met

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), Dec 11 (UNI) The well-marked low-pressure area that was positioned over the southwest Bay of Bengal on Tuesday now lies over the same region of the Sri Lanka coast.
The associated upper-air cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-tropospheric levels. The system is expected to move west-northwestwards towards the Sri Lanka-Tamil Nadu coasts over the next 24 hours, the Meteorological Centre said on Wednesday.
A daily weather report here,said that heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours.
