Western Railway officer arrested for demanding Rs 50k bribe

Mumbai, Feb 23 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Chief Office Superintendent in the Western Railway’s Divisional Railway Manager (DRM)’s office for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a representative of a private company, officials said here on Friday.
The complainant is a regular supplier of various materials to the WR, for which he raised bills for payment and submitted them to the accused, COS Sanjay Waghela.
Recently, the company supplied materials worth Rs 4.80 crore for which Waghela was the processing officer in the DRM’s office.
