Wild baby elephant rescued by Forest officials in Arunachal’s Deomali

Itanagar, July 6 (UNI) In a swift and coordinated effort, the Deomali Forest Division in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district successfully rescued a wild baby elephant that had fallen into a muddy pit, believed to be an old well, and was reportedly trapped for nearly two days, official sources said today.
Acting on a tip-off received last evening, a rescue team led by Range Forest Officer (RFO) Diwang Lowang, under the supervision of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Deomali, rushed to the site. The team included foresters Kaling Libang, Leamkai Wangpan, Leki Ingo, forest guard OP Singh, and other staff.
The two-hour-long rescue operation saw strong support from local villagers, who worked alongside forest officials to successfully pull the elephant out of the pit and guide it safely back into the nearby forest.
