Women’s leadership vital for 'Viksit Bharat': Annpurna Devi

New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) Women’s leadership goes beyond mere representation and is vital for driving women-led development towards a ‘Viksit Bharat,’ Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Annpurna Devi.
She was speaking after inaugurating the second edition of SheLeads, UN Women’s flagship capacity-building programme organised by the UN Women India Country Office.
“Women’s leadership is not just a matter of representation, it is central to driving women-led development for a Viksit Bharat. Initiatives like SheLeads are pivotal in equipping women with the skills and networks needed to lead from the front, ensuring that our development agenda, be it towards 2030 SDGs or India’s Agenda 2040, is truly inclusive and representative of every voice,” she added.

Ensure free admission of poor children in private schools as ‘national mission’: SC

New Delhi, Jan 13 (UNI) The Supreme Court today underscored that ensuring admission of children from weaker and disadvantaged sections in private schools under the Right to Education (RTE) Act must be treated as a “national mission.”
Interpreting Section 12(1)(c) of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, the Court held that State governments and local authorities are duty-bound to ensure that no eligible child is denied admission in neighbourhood schools.
