Women’s T20 WC: Australia take cautious approach with Gardner, Litchfield injuries

New Delhi, June 18 (UNI) Australia captain Sophie Molineux has said the team will not rush Ash Gardner and Phoebe Litchfield back from injury during the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
Both players missed Australia’s dominant nine-wicket win over Bangladesh in Leeds on Wednesday, a result that gave the six-time champions their second straight victory of the tournament. Australia will next face the Netherlands in Southampton on Saturday.
Litchfield has already been ruled out of the matches against the Netherlands and Pakistan because of a quad injury. Gardner, however, could return sooner, with Molineux providing a positive update on the all-rounder’s recovery.
