Yatnal quotes Saint Purandara Dasa after expulsion from BJP

Bengaluru, Mar 26 (UNI) Hours after his expulsion from the BJP, senior politician and Karnataka legislator Basanagouda Patil Yatnal on Wednesday quoted the 16th-century saint-composer Purandara Dasa, ad remarked, "Sathyavantarigidu kaalavalla" (It is not the time for honest people), indicating his disappointment with the party's decision.
Yatnal, who has been expelled from the BJP for six years, said he had been punished for "calling a spade a spade" and criticised what he termed as "one-upmanship" in the party. He also reaffirmed his commitment to fighting against corruption, family politics, and working towards the development of North Karnataka and the cause of Hindutva.
"Certain vested interests have played their part in furthering their agenda successfully. However, the decision to expel me will not deter my fight against corruption, family politics, and the development of North Karnataka. I will continue to serve my people with the same vigour and tenacity," Yatnal said.
