Zverev finally breaks Grand Slam jinx at French Open

Paris, June 7 (UNI) In a final filled with tension, momentum swings and missed opportunities, Alexander Zverev finally ended his long wait for a Grand Slam title, defeating first-time finalist Flavio Cobolli 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-1 in a gripping French Open final at Roland-Garros on Sunday.
Zverev started in commanding fashion, dictating rallies with heavy groundstrokes and breaking Cobolli's rhythm early to race through the opening set 6-1. The German looked firmly in control, but the match soon shifted as Cobolli settled into the contest and began absorbing pressure with growing confidence.
The Italian responded strongly in the second set, raising his intensity in long baseline exchanges and forcing errors from Zverev to level the match at one set all. From there, the final turned into a battle of nerves as both players struggled to maintain consistency under pressure.

Namibia names 28-player squad ahead of U20 Barthes Trophy

Windhoek, July 21 (UNI) The Namibia Rugby union (NRU) on Tuesday announced a 28-player squad for the 2026 Barthes Trophy that will be staged in Uganda.
The squad is supported by six technical staff members, including head coach Christiaan Johannes Zaayman.
The Barthes Trophy, which will take place from August 4 to 17, is the only national-level junior rugby tournament in Africa, with eight U20 teams competing for the title, according to Xinhua.

Madrid, July 21 (UNI) FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta said on Tuesday that the club will officially announce the signing of German forward Karim Adeyemi from Bundesliga giant Dortmund on Wednesday, when the player will also be presented to fans and the media.
Laporta confirmed the news upon his arrival at Barcelona airport after attending the World Cup final. His trip to New York was the main reason for the delay in announcing Adeyemi's signing after the 24-year-old arrived in Barcelona last week.
