‘He-Man’ returns: Trailer for live-action ‘Masters of the Universe’ out

Washington, Jan 24 (UNI) The trailer for the highly anticipated live-action film ‘Masters of the Universe’ has finally been released. The movie is set to hit theatres worldwide on June 5.
Directed by Travis Knight, the film is a live-action adaptation of Mattel’s iconic ‘He-Man’ and the ‘Masters of the Universe’ animated TV series. Nicholas Galitzine stars as ‘He-Man’, the sword-wielding hero who must battle to save his planet, Eternia, from the evil Skeletor and his followers.
The trailer dives down to a fantastical world filled with magic, gods, talking tigers, and spaceships, elements long familiar to comic book fans. Galitzine’s ‘He-Man’ experiences this world firsthand as he attempts to return to Eternia.
The story takes a turn when he receives a message about his powerful sword, which has mysteriously gone missing. After reclaiming the sword, He-Man and his team set out to defend their planet from Skeletor’s forces. Amazon MGM Studios shared the trailer on their official Instagram handle.
Joining Galitzine and Jared Leto are Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-At-Arms, James Purefoy as King Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, and Sasheer Zamata as Suzie.
The cast also features Johannes Haukur Johannesson, Hafthor Bjornsson, Kojo Attah, John Xue Zhang, and Christian Vunipola.
‘Masters of the Universe’ is produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Mattel Films, and Escape Artists, with distribution by Amazon MGM.
According to Variety, the project had a long journey, moving between studios, directors, and casts before finally landing at Amazon MGM in 2023. Travis Knight and screenwriter Justin Butler were confirmed in February 2024. Principal photography began in London in January 2025.
