Durban, Nov 29 (UNI) Temba Bavuma and Tristan Stubbs delivered outstanding centuries on the third day of the first Test against Sri Lanka at Kingsmead, helping South Africa declare their second innings at 515/5.
The visitors were left reeling at 103/5 by stumps, facing a mammoth 413-run deficit on a crumbling surface here on Friday.
Starting the day on 198/3, Bavuma and Stubbs were initially watchful, countering some probing spells from Sri Lanka’s bowlers. As the session progressed, the pair grew more confident, capitalising on a flat pitch that had eased after offering assistance to bowlers in the first two days.
