Boman Irani marks Spiral Bound success with a deeply personal reflection

Mumbai, May 5 (UNI) Renowned Bollywood character actor and storyteller Boman Irani recently celebrated the success of Spiral Bound.
Spiral Bound, a screenwriting network founded by Irani, launched during the lockdown and has now become a haven for aspiring storytellers and screenwriters. Numerous screenwriters from across the country regularly participate in online sessions. The organisation supports aspiring writers through workshops conducted by acclaimed filmmakers and film personalities.
The atmosphere on this special evening became even more emotional when Irani shared the roots of his journey. He smiled and said, "At the age of 11, I knew everything about films that I probably shouldn't have known at that age! My mother was a shopkeeper, a widow... she would work hard in the shop all day... but she still made sure I was watching films."
Irani connects his father's memories with films, saying, "She would tell me stories about Papa's favorite movies—' This was your father's favorite movie... I don't know how she knew all this... but she did!'"
Irani further evoked his upbringing around Grant Road, where a neighbourhood cinema became an inadvertent classroom in storytelling. He would even listen to the movies by leaning against the wall of his shop, because the theater was attached to it. UNI NST
