Fascist Awami League won’t be allowed to contest next Bangladesh polls, says Advisor Mahfuz Alam

Dhaka, Jan 25 (UNI) In another attack against the Awami League, Mahfuz Alam, Advisor to the interim government of Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus, has said that the party of former PM Sheikh Hasina will not be allowed to contest the next general elections, calling them “anti-Bangladesh” and “fascist”.
Alam, while addressing students and public at the Hajiganj Bazar in the Chandpur district of Chattogram said: “Fascist Awami League and anti-Bangladesh elements will not be allowed to participate in the polls in any way,” adding that only adherents of ‘pro-Bangladesh’ values will be allowed to participate, as per The Daily Star.
"The elections will be contested among pro-Bangladesh groups only. All political parties, whether BNP-Jamaat or others, along with student organisations, workers, women, and scholars who are pro-Bangladesh, will establish future governance through a fair electoral process," the Advisor said. He further added, “And, they will establish a non-discriminatory and just governance system for the people of Bangladesh.”
