Govt announces Padma Awards; Sharda Sinha conferred Padma Vibhushan

New Delhi, Jan 25 (UNI) Author M T Vasudevan Nair, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi and folk singer Sharda Sinha, are among the posthumous awardees in the list of the 139 Padma Award winners announced by the government here on Saturday on the eve of Republic Day.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the honours list includes seven Padma Vibhushan, 19 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri winners.
The awards are among the highest civilian honours bestowed by the government of India.
