Hyd: Telangana Minister Seethakka inaugurates Tribal Café and temple at Masab Tank (RPT)

Hyderabad, June 10 (UNI) In a vibrant celebration of tribal culture and self-reliance, Telangana Panchayat Raj and Child Welfare Minister Dr Dhanasari Anasuya Seethakka on Monday inaugurated a Tribal Café and a temple at the Tribal Cultural Research and Training Institute, under the Tribal Welfare Department, at Masab Tank in Hyderabad.
The initiative aims to bring tribal traditions, particularly culinary heritage, into the mainstream by offering a unique experience of forest-based foods and cultural exhibits. The Tribal Café introduces the public to traditional tribal dishes made from natural forest produce, free from adulteration, and grains exclusive to tribal communities and forest dwellers.
As part of this effort, a Tribal Food Hall has been established in front of the Tribal Museum at Telugu Welfare Bhavan, where over 20 types of tribal snacks and dishes are now available. These include traditional sweets, garelu, and other delicacies prepared by tribal communities from ITDA regions such as Utnur, Adilabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Eturu Nagaram. The initiative also provides self-employment opportunities to forest dwellers, promoting economic empowerment alongside cultural preservation.
