Iran's decade-long nuclear talks were stalling tactic for developing nuclear weapons, says leadership critic Sadegh Zibakalam

Tehran, Nov 12 (UNI) Iran's long-running nuclear negotiations were never genuine and were merely part of a stalling tactic to buy the country additional time for fully realising its ambitions of enriching weapons grade uranium for the development of its own nuclear arsenal, said Tehran-based analyst Sadegh Zibakalam.
Zibakalam, a well-known political commentator residing in Tehran, has earned much notoriety with the authorities due to his blunt-outspoken criticism of the Islamic Republic's administration, and has himself faced multiple court cases and periods of detention for criticising the government.
In January, he was charged after delivering a speech in Doha that authorities said contained "propaganda against the system" and "false information." Judiciary-linked media later reported that he had been sentenced to prison, though the duration was not disclosed.
