Jamaican PM presents to his Indian  counterpart photo of Narendra Modi

New Delhi, Oct 1 (UNI) In a special gesture to give new heights in the long standing friendship, Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness on Tuesday presented to his Indian counterpart a photo of Narendra Modi during his visit to Montego Bay, Jamaica in 1999.
Modi had travelled to Jamaica during former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s visit for the G-15 meeting.
In the photo, Narendra Modi is seen interacting with Indian diaspora members in Jamaica who had hosted him.
Modi presented a cricket bat signed by the the Indian cricket team to the PM of Jamaica.
The Jamaica PM also gifted a cricket bat signed by Chris Gayle to Modi.

Holeness is on an official visit to India from September 30 to October 3.
This is also the first ever bilateral visit of the Prime Minister of Jamaica to India.

Cong welcomes SC order on SIR, accuses BJP of spreading disinformation, distorting facts

New Delhi, July 12 (UNI) In an effort to counter what it called as "disinformation and distortion" by the BJP regarding the Supreme Court order on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, the Congress today said it was satisfied with the ruling, noting that the court had directed the Election Commission of India (ECI) to accept the Aadhaar card, voter card and ration card as valid proof of identity.
Moreover, the party clarified that it "never pressed" for the stay of the SIR.
