NATO head says will visit Hungary Wednesday to discuss alliance's efforts to help Ukraine

Brussels, June 11 (UNI) NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Tuesday that he will pay a visit to Hungary on June 12 to discuss Budapest's plans to avoid partaking in the alliance's efforts to increase support for Kiev.
In late May, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Hungary intended to make a pact with Stoltenberg or his successor that would ensure that Hungary — while remaining a member of NATO — would be able to skip the alliance's operations in Ukraine. Hungarian lawyers are working on that, he added.
"I look forward to go to Budapest to sit down and discuss the agenda for the NATO Summit [in Washington] that includes support for Ukraine and also how to further strengthen our deterrence and defense, and I will then meet the press tomorrow and I can tell you more about the meeting after I meet Viktor Orban," Stoltenberg told reporters ahead of the Bucharest 9 Summit in Riga.
