Sophos, Rubrik launch integrated Microsoft 365 backup and recovery solution

New Delhi, Jun 3 (UNI) Cybersecurity firm Sophos and data security company Rubrik on Wednesday announced the global availability of Sophos Backup and Recovery Powered by Rubrik Cyber Resilience, a new solution designed to help organizations rapidly recover Microsoft 365 data following cyberattacks, account compromises, insider threats, or accidental deletions.
The offering integrates Rubrik's Microsoft 365 backup and recovery capabilities directly into Sophos Central, enabling customers to manage threat detection, response and data restoration through a single platform.
The launch follows the strategic partnership announced by the two companies in August 2025 and brings integrated Microsoft 365 backup and recovery capabilities to organizations worldwide.
Microsoft 365, which powers email, identity management and collaboration for millions of businesses globally, has increasingly become a target for cybercriminals seeking to exploit compromised identities and disrupt operations.
"Staying operational in a world of constant digital disruption requires confidence in your ability to quickly recover," said Tom Foucha, Vice President Product Management at Sophos. "By bringing recovery directly into the same platform where security teams detect and respond to threats, we're making cyber resilience practical."
According to the company, the new solution allows security teams to recover emails, files, mailboxes, OneDrive accounts, SharePoint sites and Teams data from secure, immutable backups while managing both security and recovery operations from a single console.
Ashish Gupta, Managing Director, India and Head of Engineering at Rubrik, said cyber resilience has become a business necessity as ransomware attacks continue to grow in frequency and sophistication.
"Organizations must ensure rapid recovery and uninterrupted access to their critical data. By embedding recovery into Sophos Central, organizations can significantly strengthen their cyber resilience strategy while simplifying the protection, management and recovery of Microsoft 365 data," Gupta said.
Key features of the solution include air-gapped and immutable backups protected through customer-controlled encryption, automated discovery and protection of new users and workloads, and policy-driven controls based on Microsoft Entra ID.
The companies said the integrated platform provides organizations with a unified view of threats and recovery actions, reducing complexity and accelerating recovery during cyber incidents.
Sophos currently protects more than 600,000 customers globally and integrates over 350 telemetry sources across endpoints, cloud, network, identity, email and business applications, providing additional security context to support faster recovery decisions.
The solution is available immediately as an add-on for Sophos customers worldwide.
