UP Sarus population surges 2 pc

Lucknow, July 10 (UNI) The population of Uttar Pradesh’s state bird Sarus has grown by about 2 per cent over the past one year, a surveyor involved in last month's census said on Wednesday.

The latest summer census conducted on June 20 and June 21 revealed the presence of a total of 19,918 Sarus cranes in the state, marking an increase of 396 from the previous year.
