ACB arrests ‘Gram Sewak’ for accepting bribe in J&K’s Bandipora

Srinagar, Apr 22 (UNI) Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested a “Gram Sewak” or village attendant for demanding and accepting bribe from a complainant for performing geo-tagging in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A ACB statement said that it received a complaint from a complainant alleging therein that Gram Sewak (GRS) Abdul Rashid of Rural Development Department block Arin Bandipora is demanding bribe of Rs 6000 for doing geotag of plinth area of under construction house site constructed by him under PMAY-G Scheme etc.
It was alleged by the complainant that in the year 2023, his case under PMAY-G Scheme was sanctioned for construction of a pucca house for which he had received an initial installment of Rs 50,000 through his Bank account from RDD.
