All 15 candidates for two LS seats clear scrutiny

Itanagar, Mar 28 (UNI) Altogether, 168 nominations filed for the upcoming Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections were found to be valid after scrutiny of papers on Thursday, while the process of scrutinising nominations against Itanagar and Daporijo constituencies has been adjourned till Friday, the results of which would be out by 11 a.m., an election official said.
The party-wise breakdown of valid nominations is Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-58, Indian National Congress (INC)-23, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)-16, National People’s Party (NPP)-23, LJSP-1, People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA)-13, Arunachal Democratic Party (ADP)-4, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP)-1, and Independent-29.
Arunachal Pradesh is going to hold simultaneous polls on April 19 to elect a new 60-member Assembly and two Members of Parliament from the Arunachal West and East Lok Sabha seats.
