Around 18  pc polling till 11 AM in second phase of LS election in Mah

Mumbai, Apr 26 (UNI) An estimated 18 per cent of 1.49 crore electorate exercised their franchise in the first four hours in the second phase Lok Sabha election to eight seats in Maharashtra.
According to election office sources, average 21 per cent electorate exercised their franchise in the first four hours in eight seats during second phase Lok Sabha election.
The highest polling of 21 per cent was recorded in Parbhani followed by Nanded 20, Akola, Amravati and Buldhana 17 per cent each and Hingoli, Wardha and Yawatmal 18 per cent each.Electorate are exercising their franchise amid tight security arrangements in all the eight constituencies.
Except EVMs fault in some constituencies and boycott by voters in villages of Parbhani and Amravati, no untoward incident has been reported so far from any part of the constituencies, where polling is in progress.
Most of the candidates of major political parties have exercised their franchise.
Fresh voters are enthusiastic to cast their votes. They were seen waiting to cast their votes in long queues.

Pune, May 6 (UNI) Day temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Gangetic West Bengal; at isolated places at a few places over Bihar; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over west Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe, Telangana, Rayalaseema; at a few places over east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam; at isolated places over Punjab, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad. These were markedly below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C); at isolated places over Gujarat state and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 45.1°C was reported at Saraikela (Jharkhand) over the country.
