Arunachal: Tarh Johny fielded from Palin assembly seat

Itanagar, Mar 26 (UNI) Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the candidature of Tarh Johny (in place of Takam Pario) for the ensuing general election to the Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh from Palin constituency in Kra Daadi district, Congress sources said.
This development comes days after the previously announced Congress nominee from the Palin assembly seat, former PHED Minister and senior Congress leader Takam Pario, dumped the grand old party and its ticket to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Meanwhile, the State Campaign Committee of the Congress Party, chaired by former MP and former APCC president Takam Sanjoy, in its meeting held at the Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, constituted two campaign committees for Arunachal West and Arunachal East parliamentary constituencies for the ensuing Lok Sabha and Assembly polls.
