Bengal: Talks between state chief secretary & agitating junior doctors continue

Kolkata, Oct 9 (UNI) Talks between West Bengal chief secretary Manoj Pant and a delegation of protesting junior doctors at Swastha Bhavan continued for nearly two hours now when the reports came here, official sources said on Wednesday.
They said Pant, accompanied by state Health secretary Narayan Swaroop Nigam, state Home secretary, the DGP and heads of the state-owned hospitals, briefed the medics about the progress made so far on many points, which came out during three previous talks.
About 29 junior doctors, representing different hospitals, were attending the meeting and one of the medics said the removal of the state Health secretary, among other 10-point demands, were not negotiable.
