Conduct 50K COVID tests per day in UP: CM

Lucknow, Jul 13 (UNI) Asking the officials to ramp up the Novel Coronavirus testing to 50,000 per day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday ordered that sample collection in Varanasi, Ballia, Ghaziabad and Jhansi should be increased, so that the real picture of Corona infection could emerge from these districts.
''Of 50,000 tests, at least 30000 should be done by RT PCR, 18000-20000 by Rapid Antigen method and 2000-2500 testing by TruNAT machines. This distribution will speed the testing process,'' he said, while presiding over a high-level Unlock review meeting at his official residence here.
Mr Adityanath reiterated that cleanliness and sanitation drives should be undertaken every Saturday and Sunday. It will help in controlling Covid-19 as well as other vector diseases.
