Day temp above normal at isolated places over J&K and Ladakh

Pune, Mar 26 (UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Bihar; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Himachal Pradesh; at isolated places over Punjab; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over west Rajasthan; at a few places over Uttarakhand, east Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch; at isolated places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, north Interior Karnataka and Kerala and Mahe. These were markedly below normal (-5.1°C or less) at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura; below normal (- 1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh and West Bengal and Sikkim and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 41.0°C was reported at Akola (Vidarbha) over the country.

Night temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over west Rajasthan; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Konkan and Goa; at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Assam and Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Gujarat Region, Bihar, Odisha, Marathwada, Telangana and north Interior Karnataka. These are below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places over West Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and near normal over rest parts of the country.
