ParliamentPosted at: Jul 29 2016 6:32PM FDI in Textile Sector up by 16 pcNew Delhi, Jul 29 (UNI) The textile sector has attracted Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) of 230.13 million dollars in 2015-16, which is 16 per cent higher than 2014-15. Minister of State for Textiles Ajay Tamta today in a written reply to a Rajya Sabha question, said the textile sector attracted an investment of 230.13 million dollars in 2015-16, as compared to 197.42 million dollars in 2014-15. In 2013-14, it was 198.86 million dollars. Textile Sector is among the largest providers of employment. As per NAS 2015, this sector contributed to 12 per cent of manufacturing, two per cent of GDP and 13 per cent of the country's export earnings in 2013-14.Please log in to get detailed story.Tags: #FDI in Textile Sector up by 16 pc
