Five arrested as police recovers Rs 73L from Atique's office

Prayagraj, Mar 21 (UNI) Five accomplices of mafia-turned-politician Atique Ahmed were arrested after which the police recovered Rs 73.37 along with 10 pistols and cartridges from the office of the former MP in Chakia area of Prayagraj on Tuesday, a senior officer said here.
Talking to the reporters, Commissioner of Police (CP) Ramit Sharma said that the arrested accused include Niyaz Ahmed, Mohammad Sajak, Arshad Katra alias Arshad Khan, Kaish Ahmed and Rakeh Kumar alias Lala. "A total of Rs 74.62 lakh was recovered, including 2.25 lakh from the possession of the accused," he said.
The arrests were made following an investigation in the murder of advocate Umesh Pal and his two gunners on February 24.
