India’s 1st export-focused plastics exhibition begins in Mumbai

Mumbai, Jun 15 (UNI) India’s first-ever export-focused three-day plastics exposition, Plexconnect 2023, got off to an enthusiastic start here on Thursday, with the government reiterating its commitment to boost the MSMEs, which contribute nearly 27 per cent to the nation’s GDP, and holding a big employment generation promise.

Speaking as the chief guest after inauguration of the event, Anupriya Patel, Minister of State (Commerce & Industry), Government of India, expressed that global plastics industry will prove that they are looking beyond China Plus One opportunity and play a big role in making India a major MSME (micro, small, medium enterprises) hub.

More than 400 global buyers from 51 countries have been invited under the Department of Commerce MAI scheme to network and conduct business at a dedicated Reverse Buyer Seller Meet that will be held during the three-day event.

From India, leading plastics processors are participating at PLEXCONNECT 2023, and the event is expected to receive 10,000 footfalls over the three days, the release added.
