JK: BJP destroyed democratic culture of country: AICC leader

Jammu, Apr 16 (UNI) AICC leader and Congress star campaigner, Sachin Pilot on Tuesday hit out at BJP for its politics of vendetta and hatred and said that BJP had two MPs during Rajiv Gandhi's time but Congress never raised the slogan of 'BJP Mukt Bharat'.
Addressing a large public meeting at Khour near Suchetgarh in favour of Congress candidate Raman Bhalla, Pilot alleged that BJP has destroyed the democratic culture of the country by its mission to target only Opposition leaders.
While it has collected huge amounts through illegal electoral bonds scheme, the accounts of Congress were seized on eve of elections on filmsy grounds and citing decades-old cases, he said.
The opposition leaders and elected chief minister were arrested in the midst of elections, he said while
questioning BJP's style of government and vendetta politics.
Manipur is burning but the (Narendra) Modi government is not bothered, he alleged and continued that there were no elections in J&K for years and people were deprived of democracy.
But now, the Supreme Court has issued directions for it, the Congress leader pointed.
On other hand, Rahul Gandhi undertook 'padyatra' and reached different corners of the country to know the suffering of people and raising their voice, he said.
The Congress has come out with Nyay Pattar (manifesto) for every section of society including youth, women, farmers, and workers, he said.
The Congress has brought about several revolutions like Right to work (MGNREGA), Right to food, Right to education, Right to information, and so on, he said and accused BJP of snatching people's rights.
Referring to contribution of the Congress party and its leaders during peak of militamcy in J&K, Pilot said that Congress leaders risked their lives to defeat terrorism and remarked that BJP leaders were nowhere at that time.
Hitting out at BJP's politics of hatred, he referred to mix gathering of all religions and castes to draw difference between BJP and Congress which truly believes in inclusiveness and unity in diversity.
Pilot also said that the situation in Udhampur constituency is already one-sided and claimed that INDIA bloc will win all six seats in J-K & Ladakh.
