K'taka Deputy CM Shivakumar lauds Rahul; calls him Cong party's 'lucky charm'

Mandya, April 17 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling him the "lucky charm" of the party, attributing the party's recent successes in the region to his leadership during the historic Bharat Jodo yatra.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Shivakumar highlighted the former Congress President's efforts in combating inflation and unemployment, stating, "Rahul Gandhi is fighting against inflation and unemployment on behalf of the people." He expressed confidence in the party's prospects in the upcoming elections.
The Deputy CM criticized the BJP for emotionally exploiting voters and emphasized the Congress party's commitment to improving people's lives. He also vowed to complete the Mekedatu project, accusing the Centre of delaying approvals despite a "double engine sarkar."
In a strong rebuke to the JDS, Shivakumar questioned the party's alliance with the BJP, accusing them of betraying the people of Mandya. He predicted a victory for the Congress in 20 seats, including Mandya, Hassan, Bengaluru Rural, and Kolar.
Praising the resilience of women in the state, Shivakumar condemned those who criticized them due to guarantee schemes and challenged the BJP to stop the guarantee schemes implemented by the Congress party if they come to power.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah echoed Shivakumar's sentiments, expressing confidence in defeating JDS chief H D Kumaraswamy in Mandya. He criticized the BJP for failing to deliver on their promises and highlighted the Congress party's efforts in implementing guarantees and supporting poorer families.
Accusing the BJP of emotionally exploiting voters and polarizing issues, Siddaramaiah emphasized the Congress party's commitment to unity and protecting the Constitution. He declared confidence in the Congress winning more than 20 out of the 28 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
The political landscape in Karnataka is heating up as parties ramp up their campaigns ahead of the election, with the Congress party positioning itself as a champion for the people while targeting both the BJP and JDS for their perceived shortcomings.
