Karnataka's water warrior becomes a hero

Mandya, Jul 2 (UNI) Karnataka government on Thursday rewarded a shepherd of a village of this district with a lifetime free state bus pass for his selfless service of digging 16 ponds for store water for animals.
The 82-year-old Kame Gowda from Dasanadoddi village, became more popular when Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned his name in monthly "Maan ki baat" radio show.
Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) announced a free bus pass for him to travel in any of its buses to anywhere.
