Kozhikode, Apr 18 (UNI) CPIM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury has said that the Election Commission (EC) did not act on the complaints filed against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making statements that allegedly violated the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the Lok Sabha election campaign meetings.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Yechury said the Prime Minister's speeches are aimed at sharpening communal polarisation and it is evident in the speeches. The CPI(M) had already filed a complaint with the EC in this regard, two days back.
Yechury also criticised the Union Government's move to change the "Doordarshan logo" to saffron colour from Wednesday. He accused the BJP government of trying to change the colour of the Indian flag.
