Lok Sabha Polls: BJP has not left the ground in Kashmir : Omar Abdullah

Lok Sabha Polls: BJP has not left the ground in Kashmir : Omar Abdullah

Srinagar, April 19 (UNI) With regard to the Lok Sabha Polls, National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Friday said that BJP has not left the ground in Kashmir but was commanding the situation from the back.

He said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah's recent statement clearly shows that they have not been able to win the hearts of people after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.

“These are the first Lok Sabha elections after August 2019. BJP had fielded its candidates in 2019 Parliamentary elections from all seats of J&K. Now the Home Minister says we will win the hearts of the people first and later field candidates.
This directly implies that they have failed to win the hearts of people of Jammu and Kashmir. After 2019 decision, people are angry and alienated,” Omar said, adding “ we will try that our three candidates from south, central and north Kashmir successfully pull voters towards us.”

The NC Vice President said that BJP supporting proxy candidates in Kashmir.

“Had BJP left the ground it would have some meaning, but this is not the case … They are commanding the situation from the back”, the former JK Chief Minister asserted.

The NC leader said that his fight is with Delhi.

“(BJP leader) Tarun Chugh Sahib arrives in Srinagar. Sajad Lone is called and he rushes for the meeting. The Home Minister targets NC and Congress – INDIA alliance partners- and talks about defeating them. He does not talk about PC (Peoples Conference). This shows that who is the force behind them ,” Omar said.
