Maharashtra BJP violating model code of conduct: Congress complains to EC

Mumbai, Mar 28 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief spokesperson Atul Londhe on Thursday filed a complaint with the state chief electoral officer against BJP state president Chandrasekhar Bhavankule for violating the model code of conduct.
In his complaint, Londhe stated that Bawankule has made "false and misleading statements" regarding Supreme Court's updates on the case involving MP Navneet Rana, who has just joined the BJP.
"Today, Bawankule falsely claimed there was an order and judgement from the honourable Supreme Court in favour of Navneet Rana following her joining the BJP. This deliberate spreading of false information is a clear attempt to influence voters and violates not only the model code of conduct but also constitutes a crime under the Indian Penal Code and amounts to contempt of court," said Londhe.
