Mamata Banerjee's health condition stable, 4 stitches administered on her face after fall

Kolkata, Mar 15 (UNI) West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, who was admitted to the SSKM hospital on Thursday evening after a fall at her Kaligaht home after being administered four stitches on her face, was stable, official sources said on Friday.
At the state government-run hospital, the medics administered three stitches on her forehead and another on the nose and conducted all necessary tests, including a CT scan. She was discharged on Thursday night, when She wished to stay at home, sources said.

The ruling Trinamool Congress on Thursday said its party chairperson sustained a serious wound and posted pictures showing the blood was oozing from her head.
But it gave no details as to how she got injured at her Harish Chatterjee Street home (Kalighat) in south Kolkata.
Police said she slipped and fell after hitting an almirah and got injured.
Banerjee was also taken to the adjacent Bangur Institute of Neurosciences at the IPGME&R for check-ups and . treatment before being discharged from the hospital.
Initially, a report said Dr. Manimoy Bandopadhyay, director of SSKM Hospital, said, “The Chief Minister of West Bengal reported to our hospital today around 07:30 pm with a history of falling within the vicinity of her home due to some push from behind. She had a cerebral concussion and had a sharp cut over her forehead and nose, which were bleeding profusely.”
However, there was no official statement, either from the party or the government, about the causes of her wounds.
An eight-member medical board was set up to monitor Banerjee's health condition, sources said.
Meanwhile, the deployment of additional forces was seen around the CM's Kalighat home after a visit by city Police Commissioner Vinit Goel, sources added.
