Meghalaya on alert on bird flu, advisory issued

Shillong, Jan 7 (UNI) The Meghalaya government on Thursday alerted all district authorities to report any unusual death of poultry and migratory birds respectively.
However, the government has decided not to impose a banned import of poultry into the State as of now.
“The Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department held a meeting and issued an advisory in which the Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) and also the forest department were alerted over the reported death of birds in some states of the country,” Joint Director Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, K.B.Sahkhar said.
